I photographed family portraits for Myles with his mom and dad earlier this year. I was so thrilled when his mom reached out for a cake smash session! She set up the most adorable backdrop and we look these photos in their beautiful home. Myles is not camera shy and this made this session so much fun! He is so spunky with so much style!


We started out with his one year old portraits before diving into the cake smash. This allows us for clean posed portraits before we get dirty! We all know the attention span is limited for a 12 month old and this is another reason that saving the cake smash for the end is a great idea. You can pull it out at then end and it is almost like a reward for doing a great job with pictures! Myles was pretty hesitant to eat the cake at first, though, it did not take long before he figured out that this tastes good!


I absolutely love how each cake smash session can be completely individualized to fit your babies personality and or your theme. Parents provide the cake and props. This is strictly for allergy reasons and often my families already have a theme in find for their first birthday and have many props/decorations already.
